Crafted from 100% handloom Khadi, this smocked top is an exploration of texture, structure, and softness. Handwoven by artisans, the fabric carries the quiet irregularities that make Khadi distinct, visible slubs, tonal depth and a breathable, lived-in feel that becomes softer with every wear.

The top is designed with a wide boat neckline and kimono-style sleeves that drape gently from the shoulders, creating an effortless silhouette with an architectural edge. Through the centre, rows of hand-smocked stitching gather the fabric into a sculpted waist panel, offering shape and flexibility without compromising comfort.

Below the smocking, the fabric releases into a softly flared peplum hem that moves naturally with the body. Lightweight and airy, the garment is ideal for warm days and layers beautifully across seasons.

Fabric & Craft

The beauty of handloom Khadi lies in its imperfections. Variations in weave, tiny slubs, and tonal differences are not flaws but signatures of handcrafted textiles. The hand-smocked waist is created through a slow, meticulous process where the fabric is individually gathered and stitched by hand, giving the garment its distinctive texture and sculpted form.

Because every panel is smocked separately, no two tops are exactly alike and slight variations in texture and proportion are a natural part of the craft.

Care

• Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent.

• Dry in the shade.

• Do not bleach.

• Iron on medium heat while slightly damp.

• Avoid pulling the smocked panel excessively while wet.

• The fabric will soften beautifully over time, and the smocked texture will develop a more relaxed character with wear.
